Being at war does not blur any lines.
Kings made it illegal for any king to assassinate the other kings in wartime.
Explain "blur the lines since we are technically at war".

Are you suggesting that since we have existential threat, we have rights otherwise not ours?

The whole concept of Rules of War is ridiculous. A man is threatening us and others with nuclear attack, we are discussing possible war where lots of soldiers and civilians may die, yet killing the person starting this whole mess is beyond the pale.
I do not, and have never, agreed with the anti-assassination edict. Unfortunately, it seems the good guys are the only ones that ever obey the stupid "Rules of War."
