The Monroe Doctrine is the best known U.S. policy toward the Western Hemisphere. Why would either of them get involved????
There have been civil wars in South America since the Spaniards left.
We have no reason to intervene and certainly no reason to take military action endangering US troops.
Trumpkins disagree because--well because Trump would do it.
