Fair point. Reading that statement again, I do sound like a beer snob. I should have said that beers that are difficult to obtain because of high demand generally indicates that it is a good beer. However, like you said, there are several good beers that are widely available.

in all likelihood it had some age on it. jai alai is a good ipa when fresh but does fall off rather quickly. i don't hesitate buying it at a month old or less
