posting here to check back on all the advice. I'm heading to CHI in about 4 weeks for the UGA/ND game and will definitely use this thread as a guide. All we have set in stone is cubs/brewers on Friday.
Question about girl and the goat...I've considered taking my fiance (will be wife by that point!) just because of all the rave reviews but being perfectly honest, I think the experience may be "lost" on us. Neither of us really care all that much about nice or fancy restaurants and when I mentioned it to her she seemed pretty indifferent. My question is, is this a place that is so transcendent that you simply MUST GO no matter what if given the chance? And how expensive is it?

My definition of "fancy" differ from others, but I wouldn't consider Girl & The Goat to be far out there. Decor is beautiful and it is dim-lighting, but the crowd is lively and dress is across the board.
The great thing about Girl & The Goat are the number of menus (i.e. Vegetables, Meat, Fish, Goat) to choose from, which might help you and your wife find a few dishes that each of you can enjoy.
