Does anyone realize this "epidemic" and "crisis" is about less than 1% of the entire US population? American Society of Addiction Medicine pdf roughly 2.6 million combined meds addicts and heroin "disorders".

This illustrates why pot is the linchpin of the whole War on Drugs. Simply not enough of the rest of the drugs combined to support the need for DEA and task forces and stuff. Something like 12.5%-25% of the population smokes dope and here we are claiming 1% opiate addiction is a crisis and epidemic. The Flu is more epidemic than opium addicts and the CDC only devotes a portion of it's resources to it, not it's entire existence.
