The state of AL has similar AA populations as California (close to 2 MM people). Not saying it isn't a good base to pull recruits from, just showing that competition is fierce for a small sample size. There are some great football programs pulling from that pool.

Right, but the city of LA has a good amount. It has one of the 10 largest African American populations in the country
