Somehow get the government in this state to kill half of the public colleges and take all of that money and invest it into trade school education starting in 10th grade. You get a generation of people with a trade school education, plumbers, mechanics, electricians, hvac, etc.... With a full time job and nonreliance on government and those people raise a generation who want to do better then them and you break the cycle of poverty.
This is the answer. You also need to add one class that teaches kids how to open accounts at a bank, electric company, water company, etc. Teach them also about credit and how it works. Basic life skills are a necessity.
Unfortunately for Volod, none of this is going to happen any time soon. IT involves planning and forethought. It also involves admitting that everybody is not created equal.
Volod, with your background you can tutor kids in math and help them plan their education. You can also start a scholarship fund. Not all scholarships are yuge.
