re: New Orleans Police: Officer working off-duty detail shot in leg

I grew up in that neighborhood. There was always the roaming burglar. He drove around in a van and his buddy would go into backyards or break into cars. I caught the guy once and chased him off. I called the cops and they never showed up. The van was still roaming an hour later.
Sounds like the cop was getting in the way of a caper.
