I agree with all this 100 billionty percent. I think there have been long threads on other forums about this in the past, but that single decision by the judge ruined Baton Rouge forever and 30+years later we are paying the price. People who are too young to remember BR in the 80's have a hard time believing what a decent city this used to be.

I don't argue the premise of desegregating the schools. It was done because the inner city schools were definitely not getting the same funding that the suburban schools were getting...but the simple answer would have been just to increase funding to those schools instead of uprooting an entire community.

But that is a different thread for a different day.
