Yes you are right about the timing and is trending was not the perfect wording and there are quite a few teams that have adopted this modern offense the last 10 years and the last 5 even Alabama has.
Using 3, 4 or even 5 WR's is common leaving no room for a fullback and was only explaining why coach O may be doing away with a fullback two back offense.
Miles was fired for refusing to adapt to modern principles and maybe coach O wants to keep his job
