Adrian Peterson wants to crack 500 receiving yards

Seems like earlier in his career he had more chances.
Saints running back Adrian Peterson reportedly thinks he can crack 500 receiving yards this season. Known more for his rushing ability, Peterson figures to share passing game looks with incumbent backs Mark Ingram and Travaris Cadet, along with rookie Alvin Kamara.
Early in his career, Peterson amassed a respectable yards per routes run in three of his first four seasons. In 2007, 2009, and 2010 Peterson earned marks of 1.89 YPRR, 1.52 YPRR, and 1.29 YPRR, all of which would have been ranked in the top 25 in 2016. However, since the 2010 season, AP has yet to surpass 1.00 YPRR while seeing his snaps in route drop in each of his three fully healthy seasons.
Last season Drew Brees targeted running backs 130 times, with two Saints running backs – Mark Ingram and Travaris Cadet – each seeing at least 50 targets. Meanwhile, the Vikings averaged just 95 targets to running backs over the past three seasons, with Peterson last seeing 50+ targets in 2012 when he had 51.

I can see about 450 rushing and 300 receiving.

Peterson cracks 500 yards, we going 13-3 at MINIMUM

Agreed. Our offense will be shredding people if he does that.
I think it's highly unlikely that he gets 500(or 400 for that matter), but I hope it happens.

He can get that in the first 3 games baw.

Unless he gets hurt, AP will easily get more than 450 rushing yards. Tim Hightower had 548 rushing yards on 133 carries last year.
Your receiving yards prediction could come true though. Hightower is a respectable receiver out of the backfield, & he had 200 yards receiving last year. I assume Peterson will be on the field more than he was though.

If he is half as explosive as has been said at camp I can't wait to see him in this offense out in space with the ball. I anticipate he will be fully involved in what I think can be a 3 headed monster. This can be a D.C.'s nightmare if we can stay reasonably healthy.

One thing I know for sure is that every time they put Cadet out there I'll be banging my head knowing he's taking up snaps for AD/Kamara

Cadet will not be on the roster, no way.

Don't underestimate the love CSP has for him. He likes to get him matched up against LB's in the passing game.
Personally, I hope we don't keep him around. I sure as hell won't be surprised if we do though.

If he could return kicks and punts maybe but he can't. I think AK pushes him out.

I agree that Kamara & Lasco make the team over him. They both bring more to the table.
My only concern is that CSP might keep 5 RB's. Cadet would be the 5th guy. If Kamara can be a complete receiver(not just a screen back & short passes) that can line up in the slot, then I agree that there is no chance that Cadet makes the team. That's the only reason he's still here.

I am actually not happy with our return team, punt and kick. We can't take a chance and use Ginn. Be courious who ends up doing them.

Agreed. Kamara was good in college at returning, but we haven't seen him do it in the NFL yet(even Marucus Murphy was a good returner in college). Kamara has the highest ceiling as a returner on our roster. Hopefully he wins the job & never looks back.
Ginn & Tommylee Lewis are both fast as hell, but they both have questionable hands/fumbling issues. I sure as hell don't want Lewis returning punts, but I wouldn't be surprised if he ended up being a good kick returner. Lewis' lack of ball skills scare me as a punt returner. I don't trust him to catch the ball with coverage guys so close to him(this won't be an issue on kick returns). Ginn is a decent option to have if your #1 returner gets hurt.
Cadet should never return for us again. The only thing he brings to the table as a returner is that he doesn't fumble or screw up(he's not a threat to make big plays though). Marcus Murphy shouldn't be an option either. He fumbles & he's a head case. Pretty sure he mishandled the ball on a kickoff last year & knocked it out of bounds on the 1 yard line.
Unfortunately our 3 best options are a rookie, & 2 guys with questionable hands/fumble concerns.

I never saw any vision with Cadet on kickoffs, was very frustrating when I saw him back there. They will figure it out in preseason I would hope.

If Cadet is still on this roster after preseason we are most likely in injury hell . He may end up landing on another team as long as it's not ours. I still wish him the best from afar.

This should be the case if our O-Line can play just as good or better than last year. I'd be very surprised if our run blocking isn't better this year(we're always good at pass blocking). Every O-Line starter is above average at run blocking. We have the depth to hold down the fort until Armstead is recovered.
We lost Cooks, but we upgraded our O-Line(if healthy) & massively upgraded our RB's. The offense will be better as a unit this year imo...relative to last year. The only thing that will hold us back is if Brees, Michael Thomas, or Snead get injured.
