I just moved to Burlington, NC.
Holy hell the weather has been great. It's not blistering hot followed by thunderstorms.
I think my family will enjoy it here

I live just down the road from you in Winston-Salem. We moved up here a few years ago for my wife's job from BR. You'll love NC.
We especially like the Western part of the state in Boone, Asheville etc.
