I've lived in BR, Mobile, Houston, Durham, NC and Orange County, CA.
I'd recommend N. Carolina Raleigh/Durham area. Absolutely beautiful with great people, 4 seasons and little traffic. Not to mention great collegiate athletics and the east coast time zone which means late LSU kickoffs!

I just moved to Burlington, NC.
Holy hell the weather has been great. It's not blistering hot followed by thunderstorms.
I think my family will enjoy it here
