Every argument of Mantle's "technique" will be answered with "Bonds". You're gonna tell me that mick's "skill set" was so much greater than Barry freaking Bonds' skill set(it wasn't) that it made up for 50lbs & HGH....and then another 50 feet or so...despite turning around balls that were coming 5-10mph slower

There are just too many variables. Is pitching better now? Does the ball rotate less in flight and that limit carry? Did any of the guys mentioned hit one 500' into a stiff wind? Do they measure HRs in batting practice? Again, I'm not taking a side it is just impossible to speak with such certainty that there's no way he hit it a greater distance than recent players.
