re: Aaron Judge vs NBA rookies

Eh product of the time. The last 7-10 years has had a renaissance of marketable nba stars. Griffey had a ton of endorsements video games, commercials, cleats etc. Trout doesn't seem to like it and Harper is polarizing but still getting some gigs. Judge is being primed to step into that role as the face of the MLB. Espn has certainly pushed it. I hate the Yankees and it's still annoying that even with them falling off as of late all you hear about is Judge but he's earned it and ultimately I think it's good for the sport.
