I don't get the speedy sale, what is perishable about dresses and Tuxedos? The storage costs couldn't be that high?

That's extremely fricked up. Further, it seems there has been no trial (at least according to the OP). I don't have a problem with civil forfeiture AFTER a trial. I wouldn't be against the government seizing it and holding it until the result of the trial; but to allow the government to just come in and take your shite and dispose of it having never been before a jury is a violation of due process in my opinion.
