It's far easier from an event planning standpoint to clean up the trash after instead of trying to supply and maintain trashcans or dumpsters. This is pretty normal
No excuse for disgusting degenerates to throw trash just wherever.
You know what I do when I plan on attending an event where trash cans aren't readily available? I take a plastic shopping bag and collect my garbage there and throw it away as soon as I am able. Even small children can be trained to do this.
The idea of just throwing trash on the ground is so repulsive to me that I'd rather hold it.

I hate this attitude, and I hope it isn't "normal". So basically, you are saying that if I am an attendee- I would have to endure all the filth and litter because nothing is going to be done about it until the event is over. and a lot of people may have your attitude that " it's all going to be cleaned up later", so they may not feel there's a need to exhibit any type of decorum with regards to their trash and litter. In the meantime, the litter tends to defile the aura and ambience of the event for a lot of people.
I have kids and I attend a lot of their youth sporting events. Quite often, some facilities have the same mindset that, "we will clean up after everyone leaves the event". So meanwhile, I am sitting next to spilled containers of nacho cheese, trash at my feet, empty drink bottles everywhere. Thats not a pleasant atmosphere for most people.
