This is such a stupid response. He's a cop so their entire profession involves being ready to take risks above what an average person would be willing to take. So yeah they can obviously defend themselves but doesn't mean they need to save themselves from any amount of discomfort. It's a single damn dog and the owner was there too. For a cop to react that way and pull a gun on a single dog and it's not mauling a child or elderly person is completely ridiculous.
If the dog already attacked once. Yes, maybe nothing serious. What's going to stop it from attacking you further. Certain breeds are like hunting dogs. They go for your main part of your body. Neck/face/inner thigh. So overall if a 100+ dog is charging you, where previously it bit you. You wouldn't want to stop it from potentially killing or seriously injurying you?

Again it's a single dog amongst many grown arse men. It's not a feral rabid wolf. It's about common sense and understanding your surrounding. The officer was just scared to get bit.
Like I said, cops are supposed to deal with situations like this and it's a part of their job. There a select group on the OT that can't wrap their tiny brains around that fact. They all speak from their own perspective about how they'd handle the situation and that they don't want to get bit by someone's damn dog. Deadly force states what a reasonable officer would do in the situation, not a reasonable civilian. This officer will be fired and the victim's family will be awarded millions because yet again we have a person that never deserved to be a police officer to begin with.
