Somebody had to miss a sign, Coomes is too slow to try a straight steal

Damn man. He read the ball in the dirt and took off for second. This is the reason for him getting a late jump, because he wasn't stealing and it wasn't a hit and run. He saw the ball heading to the dirt and took off. If it bounces off the catchers chest, he's standing at second.

Just so happens, the catcher dropped to block it and trapped it against his body. That made a easy throw and he was toast.

No missed signal, no bad jump, no hit and run, no straight steal.

I agree on the dirt ball read. But PM did say there was a missed hit and run in the game. I think it was on the double play Jordan hit into. Only one runner went on the pitch maybe.

Mainieri Post Game Presser Talking About Coomes

Don't shoot the messenger. Just letting y'all know what Paul said.

Paul could be mixing up the 2nd and 4th innings though. Who knows.

Yes. The missed hit and run was on Jordan's ball.

Did you post that to show CPM said Coomes missed the sign? Because if you continue to listen he talks about the missed hit and run on Jordan's at bat, and then later says Coomes had a "base running blunder" where he misread a ball in the dirt.

Listen to that video clip. CPM confirms exactly what I said.
