Was also great for the Lakers the years prior as well and Magic was the POINT GUARD meaning he touched the ball every possession, there's a reason Kareem was referred to by all the Lakers players as "The Captain," it was his team despite the acquisition of Magic, then Magic assumed more the scoring burden in 87 and therefore started winning MVPs.

That's fine, but those Lakers teams don't sniff any titles without magic.

You can be the captain of a team without being its best player fwiw.

I would argue that Magic was clearly the Lakers' best player by 1983 or 1984 at least imo.
