Very fair points. I think some of it will naturally sort itself out. If you're the sole person in Ch. 3 and everyone else is discussing Ch. 1, chances are you'll tap the brakes a bit and/or keep notes to circle back with when everyone else gets to Ch. 3. The good thing about doing smaller increments is that people shouldn't get too far ahead. I know this first one sounds like a lot (80-90 pages per week), but it honestly seems like a pretty easy read. I think we'll blow through it.
I haven't reviewed it yet, but I imagine when we get to Applied Economics, we won't be doing 80-90 pages a week. I imagine it's a bit heavier than our first selection.

As long as we all keep in mind that this first book is V1 of the EBC discussion forum, we'll be golden. I'd vote that once the period to discuss the book starts, we stick to whatever the set rules are regardless of how the discussion is evolving during the read.
After book 1 discussion is finished, then we can talk about the protocol, how to improve the discussion, role of moderator, pages/week, etc. If we try and change any of that mid-read within the forum it could be confusing to members and be more detrimental to the overall goal.
