Well, they are already open. Individuals are practicing medicine with DO degrees all over the country. I say if Louisiana students are leaving the state for a DO education regardless of the reason why, wouldn't it be better for economy to go ahead and educate them instate (greater chance of them staying in state and practicing, thus being working, contributing members of Louisiana) ?

I think I'd personally prefer to see a Caribbean MD than a DO if I were the patient. That said it might depend on which Caribbean school though. But to be honest I would never go see a nonUS MD regardless
