Because of attention. But, remember, they do not want to be treated differently, except for good differently. You know? Praise them and tell them how brave they are because they stepped away from the norm, but treat them as normal.
Oh, and what's the over/under on years that couple stays together? Anything less than 6 and I've got the under.
