that's why I said the OP should focus on a one shot out of the bunker and atleast having a putt for something for the next shot.

I am perfectly content with just getting out of the bunker. When I get out the bunker in one shot, I take that as a moral victory. I'll gladly take one shot out the sand two putt bogey or chip one putt bogey.

My major gripe these days is courses lack of attention to bunkers.
Yes - I know they're hazards and meant to punish the golfer for the errant shot. But a good number of even respectable courses are just letting them go.
