I think we are on the same page. I can definitely agree that this breed is instinctively prone to aggression, but I think many owners can be successful raising them to be friendly family pets.

Caution should be used when leaving any child around just about any animal at that young of an age and I think more extreme caution should be used with more aggressive breeds.

Ultimately, I feel the parents are responsible and while it is a tragic story, it could have been avoided.
