The 2017 NCAA Baseball Tournament selection takes place on Monday, May 29. The selection show begins at noon E.T. The 16 regional hosts will be announced on Sunday night at 8:30 p.m.
For the 64 team tournament, 31 teams will receive automatic bids for winning their conference tournaments. The NCAA Division I Baseball Committee will determine the rest of the field through at-large selections.
The NCAA Baseball Tournament consists of regionals, followed by super regionals, followed by the College World Series. There will be 16 national seeds, each of which will host a regional.
Regionals will be held June 2-5 on the campuses of the nationally seeded teams. Four teams will play in a double-elimination tournament, with the winner advancing to the Super Regionals.
Super Regionals run from June 9-12, also on campus, with the higher-seeded team hosting. Two teams will play a best-of-three series, with the winner advancing to the College World Series.
The NCAA Men’s College World Series takes place June 17-28 at TD Ameritrade Park in Omaha, Neb. The eight teams will be split into two brackets and play double elimination until each bracket has a winner. The bracket winners will play in the CWS Finals, a best-of-three series, in order to determine the 2017 national champion.
