It means:

1) SEC Champions AGAIN!!!
2) Not having to take shite from the Pigs about beating us!! (I live in NWA)
3) Denying the Hogs their first tourney championship!!
4) CPM gets yet another SEC trophy!!!
5) Rock solid lock as a national seed!!
6) Keeps the mo going into regionals!!!

No, we've already done that. This is not the SEC championship, it's only the tournament championship.

Fair enough, but whatever the result today, its effects will be short-lived when one of us advances further than the other in the NCAA tournament. But in no Piggy fantasy world will they ever have room to give shite to LSU about baseball.

Nice. Not thrilling, but nice.

Seems that is already in the bag.

People say this every time, but there seems little if any correlation between SECT performance and NCAA tournament results. Three SEC teams who won CWS titles more recently than our last one all got bounced out of the SECT unceremoniously.

South Carolina 2010: 0-2 in SECT
South Carolina 2011: 1-2 in SECT
Vanderbilt 2014: 1-2 in SECT (run ruled by LSU)

Our own teams who have won SEC tournaments under Mainieri:
2008: 1-2 in CWS
2009: Won CWS title
2010: 1-2 in Regional
2013: 0-2 in CWS
2014: 2-2 in Regional

It's nice to win the SEC tournament, but it doesn't really mean much more than another trophy. Momentum from the SECT, good or bad, does not seem to carry over into the NCAA tournament very often. Unless seeding for the NCAA tournament is an issue, which doesn't seem to be the case today, winning the SECT isn't very important for the NCAA tournament. How we perform in the NCAA tournament is what will define this season, regardless of what happens today.

We were rock solid after the state series....

Why do people keep saying this?
