He must have pulled away from the robber and started running and the frustrated robber shot him in the back and then took off knowing the noise would attract attention.

This explanation is completely implausible to the mouth breathers that find nothing suspicious about Trump lying about disclosing his tax returns to get elected and then refusing to follow through on that promise.

Mouth breathers like Ted here.

sure thing sherlock now just explain the one hour and forty nine minutes between the time he left the bar and was assaulted as he walked the one mile from the bar to his home. the average human walking at a normal pace walks a mile in twenty minutes. 15 at a brisk walk.

not even a little curious?

I hate the Clinton's and DEMs in general more than anyone on this board, but I think the scenario you described has to be the most logical explanation, with minor variations. I have always thought it was some druggie badgering for money and then the scenario you described - something to account for the poor shooting. Nobody starting with the intent to murder could possibly be that bad at handling the weapon.

I have never heard if there is any info from forensics about the distance the gun was from the victim - really close? i.e. powder residue, or too far away for residue.

Why would the FBI ever have possession of his laptop if this was just a robbery gone bad?

Typically, the FBI doesn't get involved in every day street murders.
