Good point, I had missed that. But... Strief is no Gronk. There's a difference between keeping a superstar happy and handing out cash to one role player and not another. Also, Gronk "needs to play at an All Pro level to receive all the incentives" in his new contract, so the Pats do potentially get something for giving him a raise. And, Pats media is wondering the same thing I am - won't this piss off other players who are underpaid.

Strief has played like an all pro for years while being underpaid without a single peep. Never complained, been a locker room leader and go about his business.

It's a good will gesture that doesn't hurt us long term and likely over for him after this year.
