I'm one of those guys who gives the cops the benefit of the doubt in some of these more controversial cases, but this one seems pretty black and white. She was driving the wrong way and was constantly giggling and was slurring her words while talking to the officer in question. He should have taken her in.

Yeah, she'd been in a whole lot of trouble....but at least she'd still be alive.

Completely agree. If she'd hit and killed somebody else this would be much bigger news.. I get letting "buzzed" people go, especially if they're basically at their house and driving fine..maybe rolled through a stop sign or didn't use a turn signal.. but driving on the wrong side of the road?

I don't know about all that

Also I don't get exactly what he did. From what it sounds he told her to "park and collect herself", does that mean he wouldn't let her drive off but to leave the vehicle until later when she was sober? If so, I think he may have did the right thing. If he just gave her a warning and let her pull out of there, he may have made the wrong decision.

But hind sight is 20/20
