The guy ran for 2k and won the MVP off of a torn ACL and MCL
That was also 5 years ago. My point was we can't say he is fresh from less carries if part of that is from leg injuries.
Like I said I'm NOT saying he is done. I think he can still do very well. My bigger question was how well would he come back from the injury, which you then touched on:
quote:
He's only coming off a torn meniscus, the only reason he didn't come back from it last year is bc he opted for the full repair instead of the "trim", which could've had him back in a few weeks. Full repair lessens risk of injury and it has a high probability of return to pre injury form
I hadn't read into all of that and it makes me hopefully he will be better than 75% of his 2015 self. He also had a hip flexor(?) though, but he's also had plenty of time to recover from that too.

Yeah, I agree with Bonethug in that an injury does not equal fresh legs.
Injuries start to rack up as players age and they don't come back better than before. Everyone points to the ACL a few years ago. That was a long time ago in the life of an NFL RB.
Look, I think he'll be ok. But people are acting like we signed a superstar RB.
Another counter to the "he's a physical freak" narrative is that physical freaks are more reliant on their physical skills than someone who gets by on other attributes. He's not a good receiver so if he loses his explosiveness due to age/injury, he's not going to be anything special.
Best case scenario: He reels off a Curtis Martin death rattle year.
Worst case scenario: See the long list of names in my other post.
Likely scenario: He's a slight upgrade to Hightower and can be used with a very specific role to close out games.
If I was forecasting his stats I'd go with: 650 yards rushing. 4 YPC, 6 TDs.
That's not bad for his role, but hardly worth all the hype he's getting.
