Right about when 72 month financing became a thing, they sell idiots on payments not total prices.
And yes to the other poster, when trucks became status symbols for soccer moms the prices shot up as well.

72 month financing isn't the issue. There was 72 month financing in the late 90's and truck prices weren't over 30k back then.
