Chance was amazing last night

MGMT and Mac Demarco was awesome

It's a damn shame Twenty One Pilots got cut short. Them and Mutemath playing together was badass. I've already seen their show, but those who went Saturday night was robbed of a whole half of a great performance by the shitty weather

I drove down from Mobile yesterday, walked right in like I owned the place, and saw Chance the Rapper for free.

It was badass.

Just heard that on the radio that Chance The Rapper killed it.

I dare anyone to find a performance in the history of music festivals performed on this planet worse than the 12 minutes I was forced to watch Lil Yachty

I dont straight shite on yachty like some people but I will say im pretty blown away by his rise. Dude is 18 and has features everywhere right now. He's pretty underwhelming to seemingly be blowing up like that

I'm 43, and I've been a hip hop fan for most of my life. Way past the age that I probably should have moved on, I stayed current and kept plowing ahead as the old dude who still listened to rap. I've seen various movements come and go in the scene over the decades...

Mumble rap has officially turned me into the old white dude saying, "rap? More like cRap! AmIRight!?"

Yachty, 21 Savage, lil uzi vert. It's all sooo bad and I just don't get it. Maybe it just means my musical tastes have finally "gotten old."

Lol im with you kinda and resemble your first paragraph big time. but theres still plenty more artists around doing decent work these days. I wouldnt say mumble has taken over by any means

I think rap is trying to broaden and explore a bit these days like all genres when they plateau. Alot of it will suck in the meantime. But therell be a few guys to jump out and drag the game in a different direction. Im hoping anyway

Oh yeah. Lots of cats out right now that I like... that freshman Cypher with all the above rappers is just so... bad, though. And it represents the current trend in rap, since it's the XL cypher for the year.

That being said: Ab Soul, Chance, Mick Jenkins, Joey, Schoolboy, NoName, Malcolm London, etc.. are all great. I think of the mumble rap (and whatever you'd call Young Thug) similar to how metal vocalists use their voices... it's supposed to almost be another instrument more than it's supposed to actually say anything meaningful or have traditional "flow."

Chance and Mumford were both amazing on Sunday night.

Friday was pretty weak outside of MGMT — but I was really impressed with how good they were live.

A R I Z O N A had one of the most fun shows on the smaller stages. Local Natives and Band of Horses were both strong ones on Saturday. 888 and PVRIS had good smaller stage shows, too.

Lil Yachty was the worst concert I've ever been to. I was just there to hold my place up front for Chance.

I'm glad to hear that they've improved their live show (lots of people said this was a good show). I had heard from several people how bad they were live a few years ago.

Great question although I am big fan. I cant say he crushes everything hes on but he hits for a pretty solid avg. that track he had on Mike Wills tape outshined everything else on a real solid record and I thought his features on the drake album were great. dude has such a unique voice

And I can tell people are starting to feel some Migos fatigue but damn that cadence of theirs is so catchy

They were absolutely terrible live at Hangout. They looked and sounded like they wanted to be anywhere but on that stage.

Jesus, son. This is why we can't have nice things.

And not a single mention of Sigur Ros.
