I went until 1994 so it's been a while. It was definitely more sheltered than Central High at the time which was still part of the EBR school system back then. There wasn't a single black kid at CPS during my tenure. The education was definitely better than the public school system. 11th and 12th grade at Central High were far easier than 9th and 10th at CPS. Maybe that's changed since Central incorporated though

Yes and don't care.
I was sent there because God was removed from the school also. My grandmother retired as a high school English teacher right when all that was going down. The illiteracy and low morals where being shoved in your face. Call it whatever you want to but that's the facts. Assemilation into functional productive society should have been properly addressed at Emancipation but assholes kicked that can down the road for later generations.

Has anyone mentioned Riverside Academy in Reserve, LA?
I went there for Freshman and sophomore high school years (1976-77). The school colors, football uniforms and mascot were identical to Ole Miss Rebels, down to Johnny Reb.
Other LISA schools they competed against in sports that I can recall...(and went to many away games)
Amy Bradford Ware, Central Private, East Ascension Academy, Oak Forest Academy-Amite, Riverfield Academy- Rayville, Silliman Institute-Clinton, Southwood Academy in Hammond, Valley Forge Academy.

Out if curiosity, i went to the Briarfield Academy FB page and going by the pictures, it is definitely interracial now. If the private school im Lake Freakin' Providence is integrated, can we say that the era of segregation academies is over?

Central Private Rebels.
Dixie was played at all the games before PC Police. Cheerleaders wore Rebel Flag uniforms and looked so hot in them.
