Trump didn't even get a majority vote...
Not that it matters because he won in the electoral college but don't start throwing around offices that were barely won.
Look at Texas...it's moving to the left.

Son, if you think I'm defending Trump then keep on walking. I am no huge fan of his and that isn't likely to change.
The fact remains he won under the laws that govern our elections and he won for two very simple reasons. He campaigned hard in the middle of the country and the Democrats insisted on nominating the least likable person they could find for the Presidency. And he didn't barely win either, he won a comfortable margin in the Electoral College and that quite frankly is the only thing that counts.
Texas has been moving to the left for ages now. We've been told every year this is going to be it and every year that is not the case. Texas becoming a liberal utopia has been the dream of the Democrats for a couple of decades to the point where they've put all their eggs in the basket of that happening.
Well it hasn't happened yet and in the process they've lost the upper Midwest and the South. Sitting around with their thumbs up their behinds waiting for Texas or Florida to go left is what got the Democrats in this mess. The Big State philosophy is all well and good but they are a lot more small states and those are the ones that decide who is running the show more often then not.
If you, and the Democrats in general, are too stupid and arrogant to realize you need to reach out to the middle of the country and address the concerns of those people then you are going to keep winning moral victories.
A moral victory, as we all know, is just a nice way of saying you lost.
