I was a kid in the 70's. Almost all the songs in Vol.1 were standard AM radio songs that were played a lot. I'd say about half of Vol. 2 fall into this category. But this makes sense because anyone who's made awesome mix tapes knows that your first is usually the best. Tapes made after the first contain more filler songs.

Soundtrack 2 is good. You have to keep in mind, what we hear now isn't really always the biggest songs of back then, it is just what is syndicated and recycled.
I'd like there to be some more 70's roller skate club music; that would be right up his mom's alley and it is a neglected genre.
Some Cheap Trick, for example... "I want YOU--- to want ME!"
As for the actual movie, yeah, Drax can come across a little strong at times, but that's his gig. I think Mantis solved whatever problems we might have with his characterization, he's just profoundly heartbroken and making the best of things. The more campy he is, the more contrast there is with that moment she reads his feelings and breaks down; maybe the best "bad actor" cure I've seen in a movie in a long time.
