What would it take to get a national seed?

3 weeks to go. Sitting 13-8 and a game out of first in the West. We play two teams ahead of us in the standings.
What kind of finish do you think we need to secure a national seed?
1. 19-11 - first in the West. 1 win in SEC tournament.
2. 19-11 - second place finish in the West. 3 SEC tourney wins.
3. 18-12 - 2nd/4th place finish in West. Make sec tourney championship.
4. 17-14 - win sec tourney.
Do these scenarios likely squeeze us into a 7/8 national seed?

Better win the SEC and look good in the tourney.
Dropping so many midweek games hurts
Not out of reach though

Scenario 2, being that is the most likely out of 2 and 3.

To get a national seed other teams would have to flounder, such as KY who has the tie breaker in the standings with us.
We don't control our own destiny, IMO, except if we went on an unbelievable winning streak sweeping SCar, Auburn and Miss St. That would do it!

19-11...assuming they are all 2/3 series wins, and not a sweep over USCe and a series L to either Auburn or MSU would give us a good shot of winning the division.
As long as aTm doesn't match and Arkansas doesn't finish better than 6-3.

Highly unlikely we get one.
But I would think to even be considered we have to win remaining 3 series plus a sec tourney championship or minimum championship game appearance

You are saying SEC only gets 1 national seed?

Aside from winning the SEC tourney, not gonna happen.

Win 8 out of the last 10 and win the SEC Tournament

It's going to take 20-10 at least.
The SEC is only getting 1 national seed this year. "Maybe" 2 and it's going to take winning the division at minimum.
So closest to that is #1

So you think, almost no matter what, it's Kentucky's to lose? And SEC likely just gets 1.

It could change with 9 conference games left.

What's the East standings look like? Does Kentucky have a solid hold on it or is UF creeping their way into position?

They play each other last weekend of SEC play.

If Kentucky leads the sec east standings from weeks 5-10 and ends up say 21 wins along with an RPI under 10 it's going to be them vs whoever comes out the the SEC West

Skip always said 20-10 conference record gets you there and that is usually the case. They need to sweep one, probably SC, and take 2/3 from the other two. That's a tall order. If they do that, I'm not overly concerned about KY or UF, they'll each lose at least 3 games.
From there, I think they would want to see LSU win 2 in the tourney with strong outings by Lange and Poche and more timely hitting. They have not looked like a championship team, they need to look the part come tournament time.
