Along these lines, if say Lebron james was to declare himself now a football player, would he have to go through the draft? The Falcons just signed some track star as a WR and obviously he didn't go through the draft.
What happens if a Myles Garrett notifies the NFL before the draft he has no intention of playing in the NFL and then after the draft signs a FA contract with whoever he wants for the amount he wants?

He can opt out of the draft but teams could still select him.
If undrafted, there's a wage scale he would still have to follow and would lose a lot money
