1) Don't eat as much as you are used to eating. You'd be surprised how little you can eat throughout the day and still have energy. You need to train your body to cope with that.
2) Stay away from high carb/sugary foods. Bread and pasta are main culprits for slowing down weight loss. Meat and Veggies are the best bets all the time. For hunger strikes, eat assorted nuts to take away hunger. Drinks lots and lots of water.
3) Exercise. Weight Lifting/Aerobics etc.
Main thing though is decrease the calorie intake significantly daily. Its really that simple but its definitely harder than it looks I know.
