Well if they did, shame on them since they were the ones that convinced him not to go to Texas.

I don't think CPM was serious about Texas, just wanted a raise, and boy did he get one. Got the kind of raise you would think follows a World Series championship. Why not call these coach's bluff once in a while? LSU had a very competent replacement on staff in Cannizaro{spelling?} who would have probably been happy with CPMs old salary.
