I said 1 pound of nitrogen per acre....Not 1 pound of fertlizer per acre. There is a decent amount of math involved in calibrating active ingredient per acre.
200 pounds of 13-13-13 fertilizer and 200 pounds of 38-0-0 (urea) are putting down VASTLY different amounts of nitrogen.

I hate the math part of it too...Which is why I'll never let my applicator's license expire- don't want to have to take that test again!
