Every waking second we are at war with someone, mainly China and Russia. War is just different than before. Every major player has the nuclear weapon threat, but nobody wants to use one because the other would retaliate.

Cyber warfare
Economic Warfare ( think currency manipulation, oil prices, and sanctions)
Socio-political warfare ( notice the rise in rebel groups? CIA does that)

These have replaced storming beaches and rolling tanks across the desert. It's easier and cheaper to do and in many cases takes a greater toll. We are at war 24/7
