surely there can be a balance which does not disincentive companies to do business in the US while at the same time protecting our air and water?
take fracking as an example.
there is a lot of money to be made. companies can take more care and still make money.
pipeline issues like the OP story are known engineering issues.
and if you can't do fracking without pollution with today's technology, then we should wait uuntil it can be done without risk. and in the meanwhile, diversify the USA approach to energy generation.
wind ha ha
solar ha ha
solar is making great strides. Tesla stock price says hi

Has anyone answered if this is a cheapo surface pipe installed for temporary purposes?
I would guess so, because I can't imagine that a permanent buried pipeline makes sense to transport drilling fluid, which also isn't really particularly harmful.

Show me any major environmental issue caused by fracking. I will wait for a while because there hasn't been one.

There is literally no industrial activity known to man that is "without pollution" or "without risk."
fricking burning dung in grass huts like our ancestors did 8k years ago causes pollution.

I know this is going to be difficult for you to grasp but NOTHING can be accomplished without some form of risk...

Damn son. You got rekt ITT

Also the idea that these companies are making lots of money is crazy, there have been so many bankruptcies in the industry lately. I think we are through the worst of it, but that remains to be seen.
Extraction costs are just now balancing out with oil prices.

For perspective, 2 mill gallons is about 400 tanker trucks. (not commenting on the issue really, just throwing this in there)

Not really I'm not gonna keep explaining myself though. I knew it was a muddy substance from comments on Reddit and the article, and I knew it was harmless to a certain degree. The sheer numbers of exaggerations and buzz words just poured in and diluted what could have been an actual conversation.

Was your OP rational.
Did you even do any research before you went full retard about the environment?
Posted on 4/20/17 at 11:19 am to MrLarson
I'd say it's way more rational than name calling.
Posted on 4/20/17 at 11:20 am to olddawg26
You are so sensitive. Calm down, Francis.

Show me your research and I'll take back calling you a fricking retard.
Hell, I'll start a thread bowing at your feet.

this link just says who is spending the most for infrastructure.
note spending fell in part because the cost of photovoltaics is dropping.
care to share your knowledge of USA investors?
My sister has made OT money on her investment in Tesla.
One of our kids has made a decent return on her investment in smaller energy startups.
One of our kids works for a company with tentacles in the energy biz.

I don't really give a shite. I knew it would get blasted. Anytime someone makes a thread that isn't really right leaning it's about 50:1 against you. Pretty soon the exaggerations and memes start pouring in and everything goes off the rails. Takes way more balls to make a thread that's against the grain than it takes for someone to call someone a retard on a message board.
