If you google False Widows and think the pattern looks different, know that their patterns can not only vary from specimen to specimen, but also vary on which way the light hits it. I had one that I photographed several times a while back, and every time I took a flash photo, the pattern looked slightly different.

What area do you live in? I never see brown widows around the house. I do see brown recluse.
