Terrible in practice for women - ends up objectifying and "commoditizing" women even more so than western society already does.

Significantly decreases women's leverage when they're part of stables or "harems" if you will.

Great for males with money/influence. Pretty bad for resource-challenged males, but it's already pretty bad for them on that front anyway.
