The greatest time in history was in the 90's. It was a great time to be an American (even with Clinton in office). That is just my opinion though. After the wall came down there was a sense of calm for awhile.

Best time of my life and I'm in my 40's.

No one is a dumbarse for voicing an opinion

My grandpa grew up during the great depression, wwII, korea, vietnam, and so on and he says the best times to be alive was after the Soviet Union collapsed and in Clinton's years as president.

Now he sees things going backwards again.

I prefer the 80's.

The 90's, to me, was a really depressing decade, even though the economy was really strong. Then again, I was a teenager so my experience probably wasn't the same as someone who was already an adult. Pop culture in the 90's was just dark and depressing. Kurt Cobain offing himself with a shotgun kind of set the tone.

The truth is life is better today. For one thing, the crime rate is much lower than it was in the 80's and 90's and we don't have to rely on dial-up Internet anymore. Take a look at old video clips of New York in the 70's and 80's -- it was a complete dump full of homeless people, crack heads, murderers, trash all over the streets, etc.
