Why would he need antibiotics after eating a poisonous seed?

Presumably he is receiving the antibiotic metronidazole which is common for most any case of moderate to severe gastrointestinal disease. It has good anti inflammatory action in the gut

Aubie, aren't you a vet? My vet seems to have a good outlook. Saw him tonight at the ball fields. Says he hasn't eaten but is drinking water. Plus, the dog has beat cancer twice. Once in is front left leg and the second time in his nuts.

Have you seen many cases of the sago poisoning? If so, what route do you normally take
