Pretty sure Mitch's intention here is not to remember history. Quite the opposite.

If all goes well with this they'll be "accidently" dropped or demolished. Even then the statues are property of the city, and the city can do with it as they please- as ill advised or destructive as it may be.

My question is: Who owns the statues? If the city did not pay for them, the owners should be able to recover damages should they occurr.
