Both of them (along with Martin Perez) signed long-term deals and essentially the teams bought out the arbitration years at team-friendly prices.
Also all three wanted the money to get their families out of the hell-hole that is Venezuela. Elvis has moved his family up here (I believe that's the case, and I don't know about Perez) and now Odor plans to do the same.

He used Andrus' 120 million extension as a comparison to how Odor is getting such a raw deal. Apples to oranges but of course you'd make sense out of it.
