I can only give some recommendations on Rome:
Enoteca Regionale Palatium - Place was aweseome.
Cul De Sac - Cool place with some authentic Roman style dinners
Pizza Zizza - It is just out side of Vatican City. The guys working were great. Tell them it's your first time and get the sampler.
If you are around the Colosseum for lunch, go off of Via di Giovanni at a shop with a red awning with Panificio written on it (64 Via di S. Giovanni in Laterano
Rome, Lazio is about the address). The sandwiches there are amazing. Ate there twice it was so good.
